Ron Schnell is a technology leader with over 40 years of experience in software development, cybersecurity, cryptocurrency and IT forensics. He began his career as an operating system kernel programmer for Bell Labs’s UNIX Operating System, IBM’s AIX, and Sun Microsystems’s Solaris. Over the years, he founded three technology startups, including Mailcall.com, which he successfully sold to a public company.

From 2005 to 2011, Ron served as the General Manager and chief executive of The Technical Committee, a private corporation established by the U.S. Courts to monitor Microsoft Corporation’s compliance with the 2002 antitrust Final Judgments. Steve Wozniak once referred to Ron as "Bill Gates's boss." During his tenure, he expanded the organization from a small team in Bellevue, Washington, and Palo Alto, California, to a nationwide group of elite software developers and investigators. The organization and its success were publicly praised by the U.S. Attorney General (through three presidential administrations spanning both major parties), multiple state Attorneys General, and the Federal Court Judge presiding over the largest antitrust case in U.S. history.

Prior to this role, Ron was a Divisional Vice President at Equifax Corporation, one of the three major credit bureaus in the United States. He is also known for developing the computer game Dunnet, which remains one of the most widely installed games globally.

Beyond his work as a developer, product manager, and software executive, Ron has extensive experience in cybersecurity, network forensics, and breach investigations. He specializes in root cause analysis, identifying cyber threats, and implementing mitigation strategies. He has testified in nearly 40 technology-related cases, including several trials and live arbitrations. Most of these cases have involved misappropriation or theft of trade secrets, copyright infringement, patent infringement related to source code and internet privacy involving BIPA, VPPA, and CIPA. Recently, in Bernadine Griffith v. TikTok, the Court specifically acknowledged Ron’s diligence and success in identifying errors in the plaintiffs’ expert's analysis before ultimately dismissing the class certification and ruling in favor of the defendants on summary judgment.
