Keystone Strategy is celebrating the news that our colleagues Pat Bajari and Mike Luca are newly elected Fellows of the National Association for Business Economics.
The prestigious honor recognizes their outstanding performance as professional business economists, their contributions to the field of applied economics and their involvement with and service to NABE, the professional association for applied economists. NABE counts among its members and fellows the most highly regarded figures in economics, business and academia.
Pat, who is Keystone Chief Economist, came to us from Amazon, where he founded and led the team of economists who helped build and steer the retail business’ thriving success. The team’s digital transformation ideas have been influential globally and put into use by countless other companies.
At NABE, Pat has worked hard to foster a community for newly minted economists to network and explore opportunities. He was an early supporter of its Tech Economics & Career Fair and during his term on the Board of Directors, he was closely involved in NABE’s Diversity Initiative, which has led to successes in increasing diversity and inclusivity in the economics profession.
Mike, a Keystone Expert and the Lee J Styslinger III Associate Professor at Harvard Business School, has written on behavioral economics and decision-making, the rise and role of experiments in companies and government and the design of online platforms and how data from platforms inform managerial and policy decisions. His research and contributions to academic literature enable tech companies to identify and mitigate racial bias, build more inclusive ecosystems and understand and manage their social impact.
At NABE, Mike has been deeply involved in its effort to build community among economists at tech companies and promote knowledge-sharing among academia, government and business. He was founding co-chair of the NABE Tech Economics Conference and has been a key driver in its annual success. He too has served on NABE’s Board of Directors and has worked closely with its Diversity Initiative.
Pat and Mike were presented with their NABE Fellow Awards on Nov. 9 at NABE’s Tech Economics Conference in Santa Clara, California by NABE President Ellen Zentner, Chief U.S. Economist at Morgan Stanley.
We at Keystone raise a toast to our colleagues’ stellar achievements and success!
